Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026. This policy describes the information handled through benefitsdirect.org and how to contact Benefits Direct about privacy.

Information this website uses

This website has no insurance application, lead intake form, advertising pixel, standalone analytics script, or social media embed. The ICHRA calculator runs in your browser; its employee count and allowance entries are not submitted or saved by the calculator. Website hosting services may process IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and security logs to deliver and protect the site.

Prescription searches

Using RX Lookup sends the medication text you enter to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) RxNav service. NLM receives your network request, including your IP address. Benefits Direct does not save search terms through this website. Do not enter your name, date of birth, medical record, or other identifying information in the medication field. You can skip this tool and call us for assistance. See NLM’s privacy policy.

External quote and enrollment websites

HealthSherpa collects quote and enrollment information on its own website. Obamacare Dental Insurance, its carrier quote destinations, Medicare.gov and NLM are separate services with their own privacy and accessibility practices. Our dental and vision quote link opens Obamacare Dental Insurance, where ZIP code and coverage selections are handled under that website’s notices. A visit to this website does not send an insurance application. Information you provide after following an external link is governed by that service’s notices; an agent may receive application information as permitted by your authorization and that service. Review HealthSherpa’s privacy policy before providing personal information.

Embedded Google Map

The contact section includes a Google Maps embed. When the map loads, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address, browser information and other request data and use cookies under its own policies. The map is operated by Google. See Google Privacy Policy. You can contact us by phone or email without interacting with the map.

When you contact the agency

If you call or email us, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it to respond, assist with requested services, protect against misuse and meet applicable insurance recordkeeping duties. Authorized agency staff and service providers may handle information needed for those purposes; insurers or enrollment services may receive information necessary for a service you authorize. Ask us for an approved secure channel for sensitive documents. Do not send Social Security numbers, Medicare IDs, payment details, passwords or full medical records by ordinary email or social message.

Cookies, marketing and choices

The site’s application code does not set cookies, browser storage, or advertising identifiers. Infrastructure providers may use essential security technologies. External sites and the embedded Google Map may use cookies under their own policies. No marketing SMS opt-in is collected here. Visiting, using a calculator, following a link or calling us does not authorize automated marketing messages or third-party lead sharing.

For access, correction, deletion, privacy questions, or withdrawal of permission for further follow-up, contact info@benefitsdirect.org or (614) 420-2418. We verify identity proportionately and honor applicable rights, subject to legal recordkeeping and other exceptions. Retention depends on the service and applicable insurance requirements. Marketplace assistance consent and application-review records must be retained for at least 10 years when required by 45 CFR 155.220; these are separate from calculator entries. Withdrawal of consent does not cancel coverage.

Children and policy updates

This site is intended for adults and authorized representatives. Children should not send personal information independently. A parent or authorized representative may provide dependent information through an appropriate enrollment channel. Material policy changes will be reflected in the effective date.
